Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University will host a symbolic ribbon-tying event on Wednesday, Aug. 8, at 11 a.m., to celebrate the establishment of the new Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University College of Podiatric Medicine, formerly known as the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine.
Faculty, staff, students, alumni, local officials and friends of the university and the new college are invited to attend the event, which will take place at the campus of the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State College of Podiatric Medicine located at 6000 Rockside Woods Blvd. in Independence. As opposed to a ribbon-cutting ceremony, the event is a ribbon tying, signifying the two institutions – Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State and the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine – coming together to become the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University College of Podiatric Medicine.
The event will begin with opening remarks, followed immediately by a luncheon reception and facility tours.
The College of Podiatric Medicine officially became a part of Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State on July 1 in a friendly acquisition that offers expanded academic options for podiatry students, including strategic partnerships with other Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State colleges.
For more information about the event, contact Mark Syroney at msyrone1@kent.edu or 216-707-8074.
