妖姬直播 State Debuts New TV Commercial Produced Entirely In-House

An ecology student testing water in a river. A nursing student assisting a patient. A music student performing onstage. These are just three of the 30 妖姬直播 State University students featured in the new 妖姬直播 State TV commercial that was developed and produced entirely in-house by 妖姬直播 State staff members who are all 妖姬直播 State graduates.

The commercial illustrates the many paths students can take at 妖姬直播 State to develop their definition of success and then pursue it with passion and purpose.

鈥淲e are fortunate to have such talented students who are real-life exemplars of 妖姬直播 State鈥檚 brand promise of finding your purpose and making an impact on our world,鈥 said Karen Clarke, 妖姬直播 State鈥檚 senior vice president for strategic communications and external affairs. 鈥淲e鈥檙e very proud of the 妖姬直播 State team that created and produced the TV spot. It was a true 妖姬直播 State effort.鈥

The commercial also was created with a crew consisting mostly of 妖姬直播 State students, staff and alumni. Two faculty members served as consultants for the ecology and nursing scenes. The students shown in the spot are all 妖姬直播 State students. The three featured students are undergraduate nursing student Andrew Beard, graduate cello performance student Viviana Pinz贸n and graduate biological sciences 鈥 ecology student Jordyn Stoll.

鈥淲e wanted to use real 妖姬直播 State students to represent areas they are truly passionate about,鈥 said Jon Jivan, new media specialist in University Communications and Marketing at 妖姬直播 State. 鈥淚 think that authenticity shows in the end result, giving this spot a much stronger and genuine emotional pull.鈥

The commercial was developed and produced in-house by 妖姬直播 State staff members in University Communications and Marketing. This is the third TV commercial produced in-house by the 妖姬直播 State team.

Jivan explained the typical process of creating a high-end TV commercial.

鈥淭ypically, when a university wants to produce a high-end commercial, they will reach out to an advertising agency months in advance,鈥 said Jivan, who served as the commercial鈥檚 director. 鈥淭he ad agency will generate concepts, write scripts, storyboard and then ultimately will produce and edit the commercial. This process can be very expensive. At 妖姬直播 State, we 鈥 communications staff members 鈥 generate the concepts, write the scripts, storyboard, hire a crew, rent video equipment, shoot and edit the commercial.鈥

In addition to the students who appeared in the commercial, 妖姬直播 State students also were involved in the production staff, aligning with the university鈥檚 Students First priority. Three current 妖姬直播 State students, who work on the University Communications and Marketing video team, engaged in hands-on experiential learning by working on the project.

鈥淭hey are all current digital media production students who intend to produce videos professionally after graduation,鈥 Jivan said. 鈥淲orking on a professional set gives them a rare look into how a production works and allows them to meet and work alongside local industry professionals.鈥

The commercial also boasts a first for 妖姬直播 State: This is the first commercial to feature custom music. Composer Terry Geer, a 妖姬直播 State alumnus, produced the music for the commercial.

鈥淭erry wrote a melody for a cello, which Viviana, the featured cello student, performed on set for us,鈥 Jivan said. 鈥淭erry took that recording and mixed it into the final music you hear in the commercial, so when you hear a cello, you are actually hearing Viviana.鈥

Filming took place over five days at various sites on the university鈥檚 妖姬直播 and Salem campuses, as well as at Akron-Canton Airport, Munroe Falls Metro Park in Tallmadge and Tannery Park in 妖姬直播.

The new 妖姬直播 State TV commercial will air in September to November in the Cleveland, Columbus, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati markets.
