Scholarship Opportunities for First-Year Students

The Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship offers multiple scholarship opportunities to assist you as you pursue your business degree.

Our first-year student scholarships are designed to help you as you begin your college career. If you have questions, please contact Katie at krmurphy@kent.edu.

Applications for the 2025-2026 academic year will open in on November 1, 2024, and will close on February 28, 2025.

FIRST-YEAR SCHOLARSHIPS

Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship First-Year Student Leadership Scholarship

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be an incoming first-year student admitted to the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship at the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Campus. You must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate leadership abilities. This scholarship is not renewable.

James & Nancy Arthur Scholarship

You will receive priority for this one-time scholarship if you are a graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School in Ñý¼§Ö±²¥, Ohio. You must have a minimum 2.5 high school GPA. Other high schools will be considered in the event that there are no applicants from Theodore Roosevelt High School.

Carl E. Bartlow Memorial Scholarship

For this scholarship, you must be an incoming first-year student admitted as a pre-accounting major enrolled in the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship at the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Campus. You must have a minimum 3.0 high school GPA and demonstrate leadership and service. Preference will be given if you are from Stark County. This scholarship can be renewed if you maintain a 3.0 GPA and remain in the accounting major.

John S. Brinzo Scholarship

This scholarship requires that you be a first-year student admitted and enrolled in the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship at the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Campus with a minimum high school GPA of 3.0. You must also demonstrate community involvement and extracurricular activities.

First-Year Accounting Excellence Scholarship

This scholarship requires that you be an incoming first-year student admitted as an accounting major enrolled at the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Campus. To apply, you need to have a minimum 3.0 high school GPA and demonstrate leadership and/or service. You may be able to renew this scholarship if you remain an accounting major and maintain a 3.0 GPA.

Victor P. Gravereau Honorary Marketing Scholarship

Any full-time, incoming first-year student intending to major in marketing may apply for this scholarship.

Katherine S. and Daniel R. Lee Scholarship

For this scholarship, you must be an incoming first-year student to the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship at the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Campus with a minimum 3.0 high school GPA. Your financial need is a consideration. This scholarship can be renewed for up to three years as long as you maintain a Crawford College major and 2.7 GPA.

Michael J. Maykut Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship Scholarship

Scholarship recipient must be an Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship major and must demonstrate financial need through the completion of the FAFSA. This award is renewable through the recipient's senior year of study and must maintain a minimum 2.50 GPA.

Jack McGraw Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship Scholarship

Full-time Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship major who demonstrates financial need as determined by FAFSA. This scholarship is renewable through the student's senior year of study.

Oak Rubber Scholarship

You must be an incoming first-year student admitted to and enrolled in the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship at the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Campus with a minimum 2.75 high school GPA to be eligible for this one-time scholarship. Preference is given (but not limited to) Portage and Summit County residents. This is a non-renewable scholarship.

Dr. Robert W. and Janine G. Obee Endowed Business Scholarship

Scholarship recipients shall be selected on the basis of: a declared undergraduate Business major; incoming freshmen must rank in the top 10% of their graduating class or be in the 90th or above percentile ACT or equivalent score; sophomores, juniors and seniors must maintain a 3.5 GPA; renewable by new application; extreme financial need as defined by current federal formulas or as determined by the Office of Financial Aid; graduates of small public OH high schools whose graduating class was less than 200 students.

The Robert C. and Walter E. Weber Scholarship

You may be eligible for this one-time scholarship if you are an incoming first-year student admitted to and enrolled in the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship at the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Campus with at least a 2.75 high school GPA. You will receive primary consideration if you are a graduate of Lakewood High School in Lakewood, Ohio. However, other schools will also be considered.
