MAPS Mentors are current students in the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship, just like you! Whether you’re a new student at Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State and want help navigating your new environment and managing your time, or you’re a current Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State student who wants to make this semester better than the last, the MAPS Mentors are here to guide you to success. MAPS Mentors meet one-on-one with students to assist with time management, goal setting, study strategies and provide resources to help you be successful.
Do You Want to Be a MAPS Mentor?
Are you someone who can assist others be successful? Mentors Aiding in Peer Success (MAPS) is a program that provides peer mentoring for students in the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship. This is a unique opportunity to serve incoming freshmen, Business Learning Community students and other business students. Being a MAPS mentor allows for intra-college collaboration and personal leadership development.
The position requires student outreach via email and phone, one-on-one meetings with mentees, program planning and implementation, basic advising and participation in monthly mentor trainings. The time commitment is 80 hours/semester (approximately 5 hours a week). Your dedication to the program will be compensated with a $1000 scholarship for the academic year (Fall & Spring). The Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship is also a CRLA certified institution, meaning that you can earn a certificate as a mentor. The certificate process sets professional standards of skill and training for peer educators and mentors. This training will sharpen your leadership abilities and give you a nationally recognized certificate to add to your professional resume.
