Neuroscience of Creative Activities
The Neuroscience of Creative Activities is a primary focus of the following BHRI members' research:
I am interested in researching innovative digital writing tools for community members of all ages to study how poetry writing and appreciation can promote mindfulness, build resilience and encourage healing around issues of trauma and grief.
My current research in the field focuses on developing brain-based strategies to teaching art to those with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.
Psychology of Optimal Experience in relation to artistic performance
I will be undertaking research into the effects of changes in embodied experience (e.g. the onset of chronic pain) on traits such as empathy.
