Sign up for a school visit and spend time with your future classmates and professors in the classroom, meet the school director for a tour or participate in our summer camp. 

 

Class Visits

Sit in on our engaging classes, interact with our talented instructors and get a firsthand look at how our students learn and create. You'll be able to participate in discussions, observe innovative projects and see the collaborative energy that drives our community. 

Fall class visits are available from September 3, 2024 to December 6, 2024

Spring class visits go from January 27, 2025 to May 2, 2025

Visual Communication Design Walk and Talk Tours

Tour with the school director

Discover how our programs prepare you to tackle real-world challenges and succeed in your future career. During this session, you will also gain insights into the industry, receive valuable advice and learn about the various career paths available. From cutting-edge technology in our labs to inspiring studio spaces, you'll see how we create an environment that supports hands-on learning. 

These sessions are available all year, scheduled at 1:00 pm on Mondays

For parking on the day of your Walk and Talk Tour:

  1. Download and print your parking pass.
  2. Place it on your dashboard the day of your visit, OR -
  3. You can stop in the VCD office the day of your visit and pick up a parking pass that we will provide for you to place on your dashboard  
     

Walk and Talk Tours will return in January 2025.

Design, Illustration and Photography Summer Camp

The VCD Summer Camp is offered to students entering grades 7th through college freshman, under 21 years of age at the start of camp. The camp will focus on Visual Communication Design, Illustration and Photography and is offered on Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University's Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ campus in Taylor Hall. The workshop will culminate with an exhibit of student work in the Taylor Hall Gallery. 

Dates for summer camp 2025 will be available soon. 

 

Planning your visit

The tour with the school director lasts around one hour. You can join a tour and attend classes on the same day during your visit. You can participate in multiple classes for the entire day, half a day, or only for one session—it's up to you. When you arrive, park on R-3 (link below) and come to our main office on the second floor to collect your parking pass.

Visit the College of Communication and Information (CCI)

The College of Communication and Information (CCI) prepares graduates for careers in communication, design and media-focused industries. Our students select from coursework in digital technology, web development, digital film and media production, broadcast journalism, multimedia journalism, design communication, photography, photojournalism, communication studies, public relations, advertising, user experience design (UXD), human-computer interaction and more.

General Campus Visits & Preview Days

Campus Tours

If you haven’t seen the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State campus yet, we’d suggest that you schedule a campus tour on the same day as a college information sessions or school tour (see below).  Campus tours are offered daily for both undergraduate and graduate students and include a 30-minute presentation and a 90-minute walking tour. 

Preview KSU!

Preview KSU!, offered during the summer and fall semesters by Undergraduate Admissions, includes a comprehensive visitation program for high school students and families.  Students can attend a CCI academic session as part of Preview KSU.
