Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University's College of Aeronautics and Engineering hosted a robotics event in its new Henry and Louise Timken Atrium. The competition was a qualifying event for the First Tech Challenge 2024 Robotics Season "FIRST ENERGIZE" presented by Qualcomm: Innovation Can’t Wait.
The challenge engages students in grades 7-12 to work in teams to design, build, and code robots that compete against robots built by other teams. Robots are built from a reusable platform, powered by Android technology, and can be coded using a variety of levels of Java-based programming. During the 2024 season, teams will reimagine the future of sustainable energy in competitive games that test the limits of performance, efficiency and endurance.
Representatives from the College of Aeronautics and Engineering said that this competition is closely aligned with the vision and mission of the College of Aeronautics and Engineering, as well as the college's research themes in "enabling innovative engineered systems for a smart, more secure and sustainable future that improves life and makes the universe more accessible to all."
