President Diacon to Tout Success of ‘Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State Works’ Initiative at Annual Bowman Breakfast

The event will be held Oct. 9 in the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Student Center Ballroom

Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University President Todd Diacon will discuss a topic near and dear to his heart – Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State Works – at this year's Bowman Breakfast.

The initiative launched in 2023 and highlights recent graduates and programs preparing students for success wherever they go across Ohio.

As the program notes, Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State empowers students with the problem-solving skills and hands-on learning experiences that prepare them to contribute to our local communities and businesses in extraordinary ways. As one of the leading higher education institutions in the nation, Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State develops graduates who are making an impact wherever they go – from their own street to Main Street, and throughout the state.

As seen on Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State Today, Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State Works most recently profiled Myron Lard, who graduated from Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in chemistry. He's been applying his expertise to analyze the environmental impact of the 2023 Norfolk Southern train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio.

For more than 60 years, the Bowman Breakfast  has symbolized the strong town-gown relationship between Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State and the city of Ñý¼§Ö±²¥. The breakfast serves as a platform to reflect on the history of this partnership and to look forward to future collaborations.

The city and university share a common goal: to build meaningful relationships and create a thriving collective community for students, faculty, staff and city residents alike. This shared purpose has been the driving force behind many initiatives and developments over the years, including the integration of university facilities with downtown Ñý¼§Ö±²¥, and the construction of the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship on East Main Street.
