His log-in complete, the soon-to-be graduate of ����ֱ�� State University’s College of Podiatric Medicine was about to find out if he was matched for a residency, and maybe – just maybe – it would be his first choice.

With his camera rolling for a social media post, Adu-Gyamfi held his breath waiting for the page to load.

Adu-Gyamfi joined all of his classmates in a day of joy as they learned where they’ll be headed for upcoming residencies. 

It’s a remarkable achievement that highlights the exceptional quality of ����ֱ�� State University’s medical education programs as the College of Podiatric Medicine announced that 100% of eligible students in the Class of 2025 have successfully matched with residency programs across the nation.

On March 21, amid celebrations and excitement, 91 soon-to-be doctors of podiatric medicine discovered where they would continue their medical journeys for the next three years. This perfect match rate underscores the rigorous preparation and outstanding reputation of ����ֱ�� State’s podiatric medicine program.

“This achievement reflects not only the dedication of our students but also the strength of our curriculum and the unwavering support of our faculty,” said Dr. Allan Boike, dean of the College of Podiatric Medicine. “We are immensely proud to see our students moving forward in their careers at prestigious institutions throughout the country.”

A National Footprint

The Class of 2025 will be represented at 48 different medical facilities spanning 18 states, demonstrating the national recognition of ����ֱ�� State’s podiatric education. From California to Massachusetts, Michigan to Florida, these future foot and ankle specialists will bring their ����ֱ�� State education to diverse communities.

Some of the prestigious institutions welcoming ����ֱ�� State graduates include:

• Cleveland Clinic Foundation (Ohio)
• University of California, Los Angeles (California)
• Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (California)
• Emory University School of Medicine (Georgia)
• University of Cincinnati Medical Center (Ohio)

• The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (Ohio)

Comprehensive Training Ahead

Graduates were matched into Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency programs, with many receiving the additional credential in Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery. These three-year structured programs will provide comprehensive training in both medical and surgical aspects of podiatric care.

During their residencies, these new doctors will:

• Work in structured learning environments designed to develop independent clinical skills
• Receive comprehensive training across the full spectrum of podiatric healthcare
• Gain experience through interdisciplinary rotations in specialties like anesthesiology, internal medicine, and emergency medicine
• Develop expertise in surgical procedures, particularly those involving the foot and ankle

• Prepare for board certification pathways through the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery

This 100% match rate follows a tradition of excellence and confirms the college’s prominent position in preparing the next generation of podiatric physicians and surgeons.
