When U.S. President Joe Biden visited East Palestine, Ohio, Feb. 16, a year after the train derailment and chemical spill, two student reporters from Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State were there to capture the story.

Alexandria Manthey, a senior journalism major and reporter for Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State's , and Kayla Gleason, sophomore journalism major and beat reporter for , were given White House press credentials so that they could record video of the President and Air Force One at Pittsburgh International Airport.

Manthey said, "It was such a surreal experience to see Air Force One and the President, along with the White House staff, in real life." She said that this experience highlights the outstanding, real-world opportunities offered through Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State's Student Media outlets and the College of Communication and Information's School of Media and Journalism program.
