Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University officially broke ground on Crawford Hall, the future home of the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship, on March 8 in a ceremony attended by more than 400 people, including university officials, donors, alumni, students, elected officials and special guests.

Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University continues to exemplify leadership in its mission to support students as the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Campus is designated as a Military Friendly® School for the 13th consecutive year in a row, earning a Gold award. In addition, Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University at Trumbull earned a Silver award.

Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University is the sole university in the U.S. to receive the prestigious 2022 Senator Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization from NAFSA: Association of International Educators. The honor recognizes Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State for overall excellence in integrating international education throughout all facets of the university and its campuses.

U.S. News & World Report has named three Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University programs as U.S. News Best Online Programs for 2022. Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State is recognized in the Best Online Master’s in Nursing Programs, Best Online Graduate Education Programs and Best Online MBA Programs rankings.

The Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education has awarded Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University the esteemed R1 status for research, which is the highest recognition that doctoral universities can receive. The prestigious designation affirms Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State’s place as an elite research institution and puts the university in the company of universities such as Yale, Harvard and the University of California-Berkeley.

Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State will hold its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, to celebrate King’s life and legacy. Award-winning documentary filmmaker Dawn Porter will serve as this year’s keynote speaker. The virtual program is free and open to the public.

The Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State alumni family grew by more than 2,400 new graduates as the university held its fall commencement. The accomplishments of the Fall Class of 2021 were recognized with in-person commencement ceremonies and a virtual commencement ceremony for all colleges and degrees on Dec. 17-18.

This year, Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University donors demonstrated the power of philanthropy by giving at unprecedented levels. The 2021 Giving Tuesday campaign shattered the previous records, more than tripling last year’s record of $2.2 million.
