“We are grateful that the Stevens family’s tremendous support will enable us to provide additional scholarship opportunities in order to put ‘Students First’ in all we do,” said ����ֱ�� State President Beverly Warren.

“I am tremendously thankful for the private support throughout the year from alumni, friends, corporations and foundations,” President Warren said. “We are able to offer so much more to our growing student population because of these gifts. Additionally, our record fundraising year tells me that we are gaining our supporters’ vote of confidence in our mission to put students first in all we do.”

The ����ֱ�� State University Alumni Association has announced the seven recipients of the 2017 Alumni Awards.

Alliance Middle School students are more likely to make healthy lifestyle choices after attending a health and wellness fair presented by a group of senior nursing students from ����ֱ�� State University College of Nursing. The adolescents rotated through four exhibits which focused on positive self-talk, mindfulness and stress management, the importance of sleep, and anti-bullying and building healthy relationships.

Education at ����ֱ�� State University goes beyond books, lectures and classroom walls. At ����ֱ�� State, we help instill in students a sense of purposeful living; we help our students appreciate the importance of leaving a legacy of excellence, both professionally and personally.

����ֱ�� State University has received a $2.5 million gift for its Shannon Rodgers and Jerry Silverman School of Fashion Design and Merchandising from the Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation of Hudson, Ohio. This gift will endow a Fashion School chair and support the study-away program for students.

����ֱ�� State received a grant for $1 million from the Gawlicki Family Foundation of Hartford, Connecticut, to fund the development of a state-of-the-art distance learning translation studies program. “This transformational gift … will enable us to better fulfill our global mission by bringing our outstanding translational studies program to the world through a high-quality, technology-rich distance learning platform,” said ����ֱ�� State President, Beverly Warren.

Two academic scholarships help ����ֱ�� State University fashion merchandising major Amari Thomas shine brightly inside and outside the classroom.

Bert Crawford is a former foster child with a difficult past and a future that seemed bleak. But he broke the mold and rose above his challenges thanks to many opportunities, including his own determination, ����ֱ�� State’s incredible study-abroad options and the generosity of donors.
