Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University’s commitment to diversity and inclusion has been recognized with the 2022 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award by INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education. The annual award recognizes U.S. colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University has the distinction of being the only Ohio public or private college or university that ranks among the top 500 companies nationwide in Forbes’ recently released list of America’s Best Employers for Diversity 2022.
Amoaba Gooden, Ph.D., has accepted the position of vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion at Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University, effective May 1, 2021.
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many disruptions and changes to people’s lives. The Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University men’s basketball team has been affected, too, with schedule changes, games played in nearly empty arenas and extra safety protocols in place. However, one of the things that has not changed is the team’s steadfast commitment to autism awareness.
Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University will hold its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, to celebrate King’s life and legacy. Serving as this year’s keynote speaker is CNN political analyst and former South Carolina state Rep. Bakari Sellers. The virtual program is free and open to the public.
Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University has won a Best in Class award for supplier diversity from the Greater Cleveland Partnership. This marks the third time that the university has received this award. As a multiyear winner of the Best in Class awards, Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State is also named to the Greater Cleveland Partnership’s Equity and Inclusion Hall of Fame.
Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University’s commitment to maintaining a diverse and inclusive campus has received acknowledgement from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education, for an eighth consecutive year. INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine has selected Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State as a recipient of the 2020 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award.
