Bra Recycling Drive
13th Annual Bra Recycling Drive: October 2025
Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University’s Athletics, Employee Wellness and Health Promotion, Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State of Well-being, Office of Sustainability, and SRVSS are hosting a bra recycling drive from September 29 through October 31, to collect reusable or worn-out bras and reduce the number of textiles in landfills. Bras that are in good condition will be donated to the Phyllis Zumkehr County Clothing Center, and worn-out bras will be recycled.
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Employee Wellness and Health Promotion are pleased to sponsor onsite 3D mammography screenings at the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ campus from September 29- October 2, in the Heer Hall parking lot at 635 Loop Road (near the ice arena). You can schedule an appointment for a mammogram and/or donate a reusable or worn-out bras.

Since the start of the Bra Recycling Drive over 1,000 bras have been collected. Since 2012, 75% of bras collected have been sent for reuse to the Phyllis Zumkehr County Clothing Center and 25% have been sent for recycling to The Bra Recyclers. In 2023, over 300 bras were collected (an INCREASE of 100 bras from previous year) by Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University’s Athletics, Employee Wellness and Health Promotion, Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State of Well-being, Office of Sustainability, and SRVSS. Over 200 bras were donated to the Phyllis Zumkher Portage County Clothing Center and 100 were recycled.

Bras that are washed and clean can be dropped off from September 29 - October 31 at:
