Main Street ֱ will hold its first-ever Downtown ֱ Holiday Open House on Wednesday, Nov. 16, from 5-8 p.m. Many businesses will stay open late for this special holiday kick-off shopping event, offering complementary refreshments, great deals, “sneak” previews on holiday gift items, gift-wrapping, prize raffles and more.
"It's our way of showing the businesses and the community how important it is to spend locally for the holiday season,” says Heather Malarcik, executive director of Main Street ֱ. “People have a choice where to spend their hard-earned money, so we want to make it a little extra special to shop here in ֱ. Many of our shops are unique and independently owned, and shop owners are going above and beyond to make the shopping experience more fun, and in some instances, tasty! Several businesses will offer free samples of holiday party trays, festive beverages and treats."
This event will also kick off a special holiday promotion that Main Street ֱ has coordinated with downtown merchants: $20 Specials @ 20 Shops! From Nov. 16 to Dec. 11, there will be 20 shops and restaurants in downtown ֱ offering a great variety of gift options for just $20. A bottle of wine and gift card duo at ֱ Cheesemonger, an embroidered crewneck sweatshirt at Dragonfly, a plush black squirrel stuffed animal and ֱ ornament at McKay Bricker Framing & Black Squirrel Gifts, and a month of dance classes at Franklin School of Dance (new clients only) are just a few of the options that will be available for the $20 Specials @ 20 Shops promotion.
Main Street ֱ is a nonprofit organization focused on the revitalization of downtown ֱ. It is an affiliate of the national Main Street program and the Heritage Ohio program.
