Alicia Pieper
Biography
My education includes a B.A. from Heidelberg College in Home Economics/Education and a M.A. from Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University in Home Economics/Education. I taught in the public schools at both the middle school and high school level before joining the faculty at Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University. I am Certified in Family and Consumer Sciences with the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. In 2002, I was named the Colleges, University, and Research Professional of the Year by the Ohio Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. Presently I coordinate the Family and Consumer Studies Program at the Stark Campus. The courses I teach include The Family, Nutrition, Gerontology, Changing Roles, and Early Adolescence. Last semester I worked with several other Stark faculty members on the AHEC Education Grant providing a Heath Outreach Program for mentoring minority and low socio-economic children. In addition to the grant my students and I planned, organized, and taught a Health Fair for 150 children with financial support being provided the Stark County Heart Association.
