Program Overview
Global Deaf Awareness: Hawai’i is a faculty-led study out-of-classroom experience designed for students who are interested in learning about the culture, history, and unique environment of the Hawai’i island of Oahu.
- Work with Deaf students at the school for the deaf
- Explore American history at sites such as Pearl Harbor
- Learn about the culture of Hawai'i by harvesting taro, making leis, and learning how to communicate using hula
- Explore environmental science by getting on and in the ocean to examine the impact of global warming on local marine life
