The Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University at Tuscarawas University Band will present a concert at 7 p.m. on April 24, 2018 in the Performing Arts Center theatre. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The concert is open to the public and is free of charge.
With a theme of "A Springtime Celebration," the performance will include a variety of chorales, marches, jazz numbers, world music, and cinematic works. Directed by James Graves, the University Band is a wind ensemble composed of Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State Tuscarawas students, community musicians and talented high school students.
James Graves is an adjunct professor of music at Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State Tuscarawas. He also is an elementary music teacher and middle school band director for Dover City Schools. Mr. Graves received a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Grove City College in 2013 and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from the University of Mount Union in 2016. He is a member of the Dominic Greco Band.
While University Band is a one-credit-hour course offered for students, participation is also open to community members. The band rehearses on Thursday's, beginning on August 23, 2018, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.
