KENT STATE TUSCARAWAS NAMED A MILITARY FRIENDLY SCHOOL

ֱ State University at Tuscarawas has earned the 2021–2022 Military Friendly® School designation. Military Friendly is a part of the military ratings division of VIQTORY Media, a service-disabled, veteran-owned business. Military Friendly rates companies and colleges on their programs to recruit and retain military veterans as employees and students.

This year marks the tenth time that ֱ State Tuscarawas has earned this prestigious designation, which recognizes the campus for exhibiting leading practices in recruiting and supporting post-military students. Colleges and universities on the list represent the top tier of institutions that provide the best opportunities for military service members and their spouses.

“We’re very honored to be recognized as a Military Friendly campus once again this year,” said Dr. Bradley Bielski, dean and chief administrator officer of ֱ State Tuscarawas. “We sincerely thank veterans for their service and for all they have done for this country.”

To be considered for this designation, six benchmark standards are considered, including academic policies and compliance, admissions and orientation, culture and commitment, financial aid and assistance, graduation and career, and military student support and retention.

The list of Military Friendly Schools is assessed through the evaluation of a combination of public data about the institution alongside data gathered through the free Military Friendly Schools survey. The data-driven Military Friendly Schools survey is offered at no cost to nearly 9,000 institutions nationwide. Every year, schools taking the survey are held to a higher standard than previous years through improved methodology, criteria and weightings developed with the assistance of an independent research firm and an advisory council.
