Katie Carpenter, ’23, has a passion for photography, and The Wallace J. Hagedorn Scholarship has helped her hone these skills and express her creativity. This competitive photography scholarship supports student costs and helps them pursue out-of-classroom experiences to develop strong portfolios.
“This scholarship helped me purchase lens equipment I otherwise could not have afforded,” she said. “It took my photography to the next level, and I am so grateful.”
She has served as a photographer for A Magazine, the ֱ State student fashion magazine, and an ambassador for the College of Communication and Information.
Katie graduated in spring 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in visual communication design and minors in photography and user experience design. She recently joined the federal government to work in web publishing.
