Dr. Mary Ann Devine, Professor in the Recreation, Parks and Tourism Management program, focuses her research on the inclusion of individuals with disabilities related to leisure, physical activity, and active living. Devine currently leads a research team exploring the use of immersive virtual reality and telepresence technologies to identify factors that lead to the engagement in physical activity among individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Ultimately, the researchers hope their findings will lead to increased physical activity and improved health outcomes among individuals with disabilities.
