Meet Xinfang Zhang, a University Fellowship recipient. Xinfang is a Ph.D. student majoring in Materials Science.
Please give a short overview of your research:
My research is focused on developing novel photoresponsive cholesteric liquid crystals, studying optical properties of twist-bend chiral nematic liquid crystals, and exploring applications in photonic device, reflective display, and switchable smart window.
What made you choose to pursue your graduate degree here at Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State?
The Advanced Materials and Liquid Crystal Institute at Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State provides a lot of good research opportunities, working with students from various backgrounds, and communicating with excellent scientists.
What do you enjoy most about attending Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State for graduate school?
What I enjoy the most at Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State is the good academic atmosphere and academic support.
What are your future goals?
I hope to find a position in academia.
What does this award mean to you and how will it aid you?
The University Fellowship will give me great support to carry on the research I enjoy doing, allow me more time to publish papers, and write and defend my dissertation.
