Ñý¼§Ö±²¥

Meet Freshman, Anna Brent!

My name is Abby Clarke! My major is communication studies with a concentration in Applied Communication and a minor in Organizational Communication. I am a graduate of Auburn Career Center and Berkshire Jr./Sr. High school (2018). I chose Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State Geauga because of the small class sizes, the staff/professors, and the opportunity to work on campus. I began as a student employee that same year in the fall and still currently work in student services and at Preston Chevrolet in Burton. Being in student services has driven my interest in helping people, especially students. This is also another reason why I am studying communications! I am in applied communications with a minor in organizational communication in the hopes of one day work as a communications director or work in administration in an educational environment.

Today I want to introduce Anna Brent. She is a recent graduate of Berkshire Jr./Sr. High school (2020). Though this interview could not be conducted in person, it was still awesome to know a little more about our students, like Anna.

Below is Abby Clarke's conversation with student Anna Brent.

What is your name/high school you graduated from/major?

Anna Brent, Berkshire High School. My intended major is fashion merchandising. Why did you choose Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State Geauga? I took CCP classes at KSU Geauga, and I loved the atmosphere there. I live close, and they offer the core classes I need before moving to the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ campus.

What has been your favorite class/professor/why?

My favorite professor has been Mr. Steven Walters. I am currently taking his introduction to communication class. It has been an enjoyable class that he teaches very well! I am learning so much and becoming more comfortable speaking in front of others.

What are some fun facts about yourself?

Some fun facts about me, hmmm. I have a cat, and he's named after my favorite Disney Pixar character, Woody, from Toy Story. My favorite activities are fishing and anything creative like drawing or crafting. I was also in 4-H for nine years.

What is your favorite thing on campus?

My favorite thing on campus would have to be the professors and staff because they will do everything they can to help students succeed!

Thank you Abby and Anna for your work on this post. We'll see you all in 2021!
