Students, faculty, and staff at Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University will have a Google Apps account created for them once they have been officially accepted at the university.
Most faculty and staff will not have access to Gmail as they have an Exchange email account. Clicking the Email icon in FlashLine will instead launch Outlook Web Access (for Exchange users) in a separate window.
Note that in order to log into your Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State Gmail or Exchange, you must have .
Ways to Access Your Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State Gmail
1. Via the Web by logging into and clicking the Email icon. Once you login to FlashLine, click on the Email icon, this icon will launch your Gmail in a separate window.
2. Configure an application on your computer or device to connect with Gmail following the tutorial here: *Be sure to choose “I want to enable IMAPâ€
For all other supported clients, use the generic settings that follow:
Configuring Your Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State Gmail for a Third-Party Email Client
Step 1. Make sure the account has IMAP enabled:
Please note that if your client does not support SMTP authentication, you won't be able to send mail through your client using your Gmail address.
A. Sign in to your Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State Gmail.
B. Click Settings (the gear icon) at the top of any Gmail page, and open the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
C. Make sure IMAP is enabled.
D. Click Save Changes.

If you are having trouble sending mail but you have confirmed that encryption is active for SMTP in your mail client, try to configure your SMTP server on a different port: 465 or 587.
Step 3. You are now ready to use IMAP with your Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State Gmail address.
