Spinning Success: Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State's Lizzy Truitt Weaves Creativity into 2024 Supima Cotton Design Competition

The Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University School of Fashion has a strong legacy of participation in the prestigious Supima Design Competition, which highlights some of the most promising emerging designers in the U.S. 

The 2024 Supima Design Competition, a prominent event during New York Fashion Week, took place on September 5, 2024. Hosted by acclaimed designer Phillip Lim, the competition featured collections from seven finalists, each representing a leading U.S. fashion school. These top fashion schools selected one exceptional graduate to represent their institution. The finalists are tasked with creating capsule collections entirely made from luxurious Supima cotton, known for its superior softness and sustainability.

Lizzy Truitt, a Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University School of Fashion graduate, competed against students from institutions like the Fashion Institute of Technology and the Savannah College of Art and Design. Truitt  presented her collection to a distinguished panel of judges, vying for the $10,000 prize.

"This achievement is a testament to Lizzy's exceptional talent, creativity and dedication to her craft.
