Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State Launches Policy to Enhance Digital Accessibility for All

An initiative is underway to enhance Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University’s electronic and information technology (EIT) accessibility, underscoring the university’s long-standing commitment to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone.

Electronic and Information Technology Accessibility refers to software, hardware, digital content and content standards that are used to provide and promote equal access to persons with disabilities. It is a comprehensive category that includes software applications, web-based information and applications, digital documents, purchasing and business processes, telecommunications and self-contained products.

Effective May 1, a new Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State policy is in place to provide clear expectations for EIT accessibility across all university systems. The policy applies to all staff, faculty and third parties providing electronic and information technology to or on behalf of the university.

To manage all aspects of EIT accessibility effectively, Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State has created a prioritization plan. This plan includes the launch of an accessibility resource website, identification of support networks, training and development, communication and outreach, and a five-year strategic plan.
