Ñý¼§Ö±²¥

The Bachelor of Arts in Biology is for students who are interested in the biological sciences, but who also want a degree with a strong liberal arts component. Biologists work in a variety of settings, and career opportunities are available in government agencies, privately owned companies, and non-profit groups. Graduates may also choose to further their education beyond a bachelor's degree by attending graduate or professional school.

The Department of Biological Sciences provides undergraduate research and internship opportunities to help students prepare for their future careers. Students can complete the Bachelor of Arts in Biology at the Stark Campus or transfer to the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Campus to complete other concentrations in biology, including Zoology.

Chemistry is the scientific study of matter, its properties, and interactions with other matter and with energy. The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the Stark Campus offers a range of chemistry courses that will prepare a student to transfer to the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Campus to complete the degree.

The chemistry faculty are dedicated to providing a high-quality undergraduate experience. Many of our undergraduate students pursue graduate education in chemistry or biochemistry; others complete professional training in medicine, dentistry, or pharmacy.

The Department of Computer Science at Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University offers courses and curriculum leading to the Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degree programs in Computer Science. Computer scientists may start their careers in medical informatics, information security, game design, multimedia systems or web development. The curriculum is aligned with the most recent ACM/IEEE-CS curriculum guidelines and as such offers a good balance of practical skills and underlying knowledge necessary for adapting to the ever and often changing needs of technology. The computer science degrees are designed to allow students flexibility in combining computer science with other interests.

The Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies prepares students to integrate concepts and knowledge on environmental issues from across multiple disciplines and to communicate about these in important ways. Students will develop a set of key competencies in earth systems science, environmental social science, human-natural systems, and sustainability science to be able to solve specific environmental problems.

Students will take courses in biological sciences, economics, environmental studies, geology, geography, sociology, philosophy, and political science. Students can complete the Environmental Studies major in its entirety at the Stark Campus.

Mathematics provides an excellent means for developing strong analytical and critical-thinking skills which are applicable in a wide range of highly rewarding careers from education to industry. Numerical and quantitative literacy is indispensable in our modern fast-changing world. Mathematics can give you the professional skills needed to excel in a variety of fields.

The Department of Mathematical Sciences provides undergraduate research and internship opportunities to help students prepare for their future careers. Students can complete the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees in mathematics at the Stark Campus or transfer to the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Campus to complete other concentrations, including actuarial sciences.
