Digital Knit Design

In this hands-on workshop participants will learn about how to design knitted product. Starting from stitch characteristics and yarn selection to shaping and combinations of stitches.

The course will be utilizing the Create Plus software to develop stitches as well as create texture maps to be integrated into other digital workflows such as Browzwear or CLO3D. The course will also cover stitch communication to be included in technical packets for production.

Instructor

Linda Ohrn-McDaniel is a Professor in the School of Fashion. Her research and teaching has focused on knitted textiles over the past 10 years. She has extensive experience in designing and programming both for Fashion products and technical textiles. Beyond working in academia, she works closely with industry on knit development to build more opportunities for knit design and manufacturing in the United States.
